Ipsy- Fresh Green Picks for May

This is the first time my Ipsy bag arrived before the Birchbox.

Ipsy bag filled with finds that are supposed to help us freshen up our beauty routine. And they are all very green.  Was it the truth? Check it out....

It seems that I have received one of the most coveted items in this month's Ipsy bag- the bronzer. Presumably so I could freshen up and stop looking like a washed out zombie. I was happy because I had TooFaced products on my radar- they are vegan and paraben free.

When I received it I was scared because the color is defined as medium/deep. I am fair. I did not want to look like a tan salon wannabe who has no color sense with a swatch of the bronzer on my face. Even if it smells divine. However, I swatched it against my favorite bronzer from theBalm -Bahama Mama and ..my current bronzer turned out to be darker. Take a look:

They have a similar shade but Too Faced Bronzer is lighter. So guess what I am using? Yup. The Ipsy sample.

Natural Sunscreen

This sunscreen is supposed to be 80 mins water resistant. It is formulated by Coola without Oxybenzzzone, Paraben- it is described as "lightweight, naturally scented sunscreen" that will provide a full body coverage against harmful UVA/UVB rays.

I have not tested it yet in the sun, but I can tell you that it is a lightly coconut scented milky lotion that does not leave a greasy feeling on your skin. I can feel it where I applied it on my hand but I do not feel like it is too much. I have high hopes of it, I just wish it was formulated for the face- I am looking for a face sunscreen/protection without luck. I am really glad  have received it.

With a pleasant, powdery smell and a promise of not being tested on animals and not to contain any animal derivative ingredients this mask cannot disappoint. I like the fact that it contains argan oil and keravis protein( hydrolyzed vegetable protein). I have not tested it yet (I've been working through the Birchbox sample) but Iam already looking forward to testing this mask - I love argan containing hair products (because my hair is really dry).

4.Avene Eau Thermale

Let me say it upfront- I know this brand, I've used this brand and I love it (mostly). This travel size of Eau Thermale (or just Thermal Spring Water) is a godsend as we are entering the hot summer months here on the East Coast- at least I hope they be hot months I am tired of winter. It is a great sample to pack into your bag when going on a picnic or down the shore. You will love feeling the gentle mist of water on your skin. Trust me. I know I do. I was so happy I have received this spray. And ----it's natural too.

Pacifica Mineral Eyeshadow Duo #1 (Celestial & Opal)

I think Ipsy Gods just love to give me neutral colors- but for once I am happy. This coconut infused 100% vegan eye shadows seem to be a keeper. They are not strongly pigmented but they are really blendable. When I used a base and when I used water(separate tries) they became more visible but not on par with the electric look given by the newest Urban Decay palette. That's ok - these are colors perfect for a subtle, barely there look during the summer months. I am sure that I will take them with me when I travel.

I was really happy with my Ipsy bag this month. I'm glad I subscribed.
