Ipsy take on January.

After a small snafu with birchbox I was really curious about Ipsy, I figured , even if I were to get fake eyelashes I would still like it better than Bb. January 15 I received a notification about shipment ( the glam room was updated before that and I was really relieved not to be receiving the Proactive face wipes,so I was waiting for my bag).

January 18 my bag arrived. Having read a lot of negatives about the smell and the content I opened my bubble mail carefully. And I saw another cute bag. Yes, it does smell a bit ( the smell seems to originate from the decal on the bag and not the bag itself), but only when I actually smell it. 

Here's what the mailman brought me :

Let's go straight to Number One 

1. The POREfessional by benefit

First thought was that the sample is truly tiny. They say that a little goes a long way and that it minimizes the appearance of fine lines and pores. I put it on my nose, and the funny part is that after washing my face the pores seem to be smaller. It does have a slight feel of silicone to it when you put it on your face but it is not terrible and I will have to experiment a little. Over all I'm glad I got it in my bag. 

2. Malin+Goetz mojito lip balm - Full size in the bag!

Sample : 0.35 oz./10g

Price $12

Boasting a fatty acid technology that soothes and protects chapped lips with a added bonus of a delicate mojito scent - I must say it works. It is also color and paraben free. 

A star of the bag ;) I put it beside my regular size lipstick so everyone can see that it is a full size product. This is the first time I heard about this company.

3.balanced guru - Balm Me Up

Organic sweet cocoa & tangy body balm

Sample: 1oz. /30ml - on their website they are selling it as travel size for $12.00

Full size: 4oz. -$45.00

Formulated by health and beauty conscious this balm has various butters and essential oils on its ingredients list. I was really excited to get it in my Ipsy bag, but now .... It smells too lemony. I can barely take it it to sample it. It melts in your hand and stays on top of your body. I am not sure if I like it because of the smell. I think I better pass it on.

#4 - Absolute! Make-up cleansing tissues ( with pomegranate extract)

Sample: 10 tissues - on the linked website they sell them for $2.49

Full size: 33 tissues starting at $4.99

First time I tried it. Did a good job, nothing great- I still had some residue- but decent. Again , I don't care for the smell but it was a gentle tissues so I am ok trying it.

#5 yaby natural finish foundation in buff

Sample: 8ml

Full size: 8 ml? - $13.99

If it is the full size then they are not cheap. This oil free foundation felt more like a tinted moisturizer tbh. It did not cover all the redness. I have to put it on one more try to make sure. It looks like something I would buy for the summer. Right now I need my heavy foundation.

Overall very happy with my ipsy bag :)

P.s. 

I also got the missing Beauty Protector from birchbox 

It has a strong vanilla scent :(
