October is not all about candy

October is not all about candy but that was the theme for it in the Ipsy world.  I was really curious as to what we would get- I hoped for maybe a candy or a chocolate piece thrown in, but it was not to be so. Instead here's what I got.

Let's get back to the candy, I have noticed many people being disappointed in Ipsy this year. I was upset with one or two items I got this year but not to the point of ditching it. Yes, it does have more skincare, and I don't know about those exfoliants but it is still better than Birchbox. At least in my opinion.

Let's take a detailed look at what I got.

#1 AYRES Boddy Butter in Patagonia

Full size: 6.75 oz - $28

Sample size: 1oz./28g - $4.15

Ayres body butter- this is a new brand to me. The scent is not my favorite but the size of the sample is good enough for me to throw it into my bag to use while I'm on the go. This body butter absorbs quickly. It doesn't leave a greasy feeling when applied. I think, I would chose a different scent for myself- Midnight Tango most likely because it is described as a vanilla-orange blossom mix. Over all a good product.

#2 Epice Purifying Exfoliant
Full Size:3.3 fl. oz - $32
Sample size: 1oz./30ml - $9.70

Epice exfoliant is said to remove excess dirt and dead skin cells all while activating collagen production and hydrating your skin. I have never heard of the brand so I decided to try it. It worked on my sensitive skin and I did not have any issues with it. I am not sure about the collagen claim but then no one really knows that. 

#3 Nicole by OPI

Color: On a Gilt  Trip

Size: 0.5 fl.oz- c. $6.99

Golden. At fist I was a bit surprised and unhappy with the color, but then I decided to give it a try. It is awesome! My favorite product from October bag. It dries quickly and for some reason looks a little opaque to me. I love it. 

#4 ModelCo VolumeEyes Mascara
Full size: $20.00

It's a good mascara and it has a really nice brush. The formula is good, but it still smudges with wear. 

#5 Noyah- Fall deeply in Mauve

Sample size 1.8 g - $

Noyah berry colored lipstick- I am very happy I have received it. The full coverage and complimentary color make it one sample I literally grabbed out of the bag and went to test right the minute I got it. It is a good lipstick with a staying power that is truly commendable. The only problem I have with it is that it seems to stain all my coffee cups - if I blot it then I don't have the full color I want. It is also a little bit drying (I have that problem with  a lot of lipsticks, and I have learned to apply lip gloss over lipstick so that my poor lips don't become chapped).  Here's the swatch:

As a side note- the bag is adorable. I'm going to keep it.

That's all the products for October. I am terribly behind on bag reviews but on the positive note, at least I had the time to test the products we got.
